Milos Kerkez sends six-word message to Liverpool ace after Premier League title secured

Image
Milos Kerkez the Bournemouth defender and Hungary international, has sent a heartfelt message to Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai following the Reds' emphatic Premier League title triumph. After sealing the league championship with a resounding 5-1 win over Tottenham at Anfield, where Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and an own goal from Destiny Udogie secured the victory, Liverpool now sits comfortably at the top with a 15-point lead over Arsenal. With only four games remaining, Liverpool is set for potential guards of honor in its upcoming matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton, and Crystal Palace. The celebrations were rampant at Anfield as players, staff, and fans rejoiced at the final whistle. Szoboszlai, part of the jubilant squad, received a special congratulatory note from his friend and rumoured Liverpool transfer target Kerkez. Taking to X, previously known as Twitter, Kerkez expressed his admiration, saying, "You deserve it my frie...

Liverpool take firm transfer stance on Nunez after Premier League title confirmed

Image
Darwin Nunez is being eyed by Atletico Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain, with Liverpool chief Michael Edwards already eyeing up a new centre-forward. Arne Slot’s side were finally confirmed as champions after defeating Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday afternoon but attention has already turned to how they can defend their title next season. And a new striker is set to be top of their list of transfer priorities in the summer window following a difficult campaign for Nunez. The Uruguayan, 25, has scored five times in just eight league starts with the only notable highlight coming off the bench to score twice late on to win at Brentford. Liverpool would like a fee of about £40million for a player who cost £64million in the summer of 2022 but may need to settle for less. However Spanish newspaper AS say that Atletico head coach Diego Simeone admires Nunez and the club may be keen on a deal if the price is right. And the outlet goes on to say that Liverpool ha...

Kiwior, Trossard face several questions ahead of PSG clash

Image
There were fears Arsenal's season was over when Gabriel Magalhães was ruled out for the rest of the campaign at the beginning of April. After all, the Gunners had been here before. Two years ago, Gabriel's center-back partner William Saliba sustained a knee injury at a similar point, which precipitated Arsenal's exit from Europe and collapse of their Premier League hopes as Manchester City won the 2022-23 title. Jakub Kiwior joined midway through that season from Spezia in a £20 million deal, and as someone new to the league, he was not entrusted with the responsibility of replacing Saliba. Instead, Rob Holding partnered with Gabriel at the back as Arsenal faltered, winning just five of their final 11 games in a hugely disappointing end to the campaign. This time, Kiwior has the opportunity to prove a capable deputy, and Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace raised as many questions as answers. Holding, incidentally, cannot even get into the Palace team these da...

Pep Guardiola ‘orders’ Man City to pay £171m for TWO Real Madrid midfielders

Image
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is determined to sign Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga, according to a Spanish report, which has also revealed Real Madrid’s stance on selling the two midfielders in the summer transfer window. It has been a difficult season for Man City. The Cityzens may have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, but last season’s Premier League champions failed to do much of note in the Champions League and could not win the Carabao Cup. There is also a distinct possibility that Man City could fail to end up in the Premier League top five this season. Man City are ready to forget about the 2024-25 campaign and are already planning for next season. A report in Spain has revealed that Man City manager Pep Guardiola has identified two top Madrid midfielders. According to Defensa Central, Guardiola ‘is in love with Jude Bellingham’s game and has ordered Manchester City to try to sign him’ this summer. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss ‘also love...

Real Madrid approve €120m Bukayo Saka signing after Arsenal ace passes test

Image
Real Madrid are ready to splash out €120m on Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka amid mounting fears one or even both of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo will leave and potentially to the Premier League, according to a report. Real Madrid possess a starting eleven packed with world class stars and multi-time Champions League winners. However, the club were ruthlessly swept aside by Arsenal on Europe’s biggest stage, with the Gunners routing Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate in the UCL Los Blancos are not a team to take those sorts of humblings lightly and according to numerous reliable reports, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to pay the price. Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso is the hot favourite to take charge once Ancelotti is axed. But according to a fresh update from DefensaCentral, the changes could extend to the playing personnel and into that star-studded forward line. Kylian Mbappe only arrived last year, while Jude Bellingham in the attacking midfield role remains safe. However, wingers Vinicius ...

Russia economy in meltdown as Putin is dealt huge blow

Image
Russia 's economy has suffered another hit as oil price falls threaten to upend Vladimir Putin's Ukraine war effort. The country's economy ministry has slashed its forecast for the average price of Brent crude this year by almost 17% from its estimate last September, according to the Interfax news agency. The Russian government revised its forecast for 2025 for the international benchmark down from $81.7 per barrel to $68, according to Interfax. For Russia's main Urals blend, the price has dropped from $69.7 per barrel to $56 per barrel. Money made from oil and gas matters a lot to the Russian economy, as it makes up about a third of the country's budget revenues. A decline in revenue puts pressure on Russia's war chest, with the Kremlin increasing spending in January and February to fund its costly war on Ukraine. The country's Urals blend slumped to $52.76 per barrel two weeks ago in the wake of US President Donald Trump's announcement of sweeping ta...

Man deported to El Salvadorian prison is pictured meeting Democrat senator

Image
A Democratic senator has met a man wrongly deported from the US to El Salvador and called on the Trump administration to speed up his return. Chris Van Hollen, the senator for Maryland, posted a photograph on X of him meeting Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was removed from the United States in March despite an immigration court order preventing his deportation. Mr Van Hollen said also called Mr Abrego Garcia’s wife on Thursday “to pass along his message of love”.  The lawmaker did not provide an update on the status of Mr Abrego Garcia, whose lawyers are fighting to force the Trump administration to facilitate his return to the US. The Trump administration has called his deportation a mistake and the US Supreme Court has called on the White House to bring him back. El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele posted images of the meeting minutes before Van Hollen shared his post, saying, “Now that he’s been confirmed healthy, he gets the honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody.”  ...

Struggling Alexander Zverev’s path filled with obstacles

Image
Alexander Zverev has admitted that he has “no idea right now” how to regain his form, but he will need to come up with a plan for the BMW Open as he doesn’t have the easiest of draws. The world No 2 is 14-6 so far in 2025 with six of those wins coming during his run to the Australian Open final where he finished runner-up to Jannik Sinner. Zverev is 6-5 since the season-opening Grand Slam as most recently he lost his opening match at the Indian Wells Open, lost in the round of 16 at the Miami Open and the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters. His disastrous run of form means he is no longer able to replace Sinner at No 1 in the ATP Rankings before the Italian returns from his three-month ban. “You win one or two matches like this, there is no more questions, you know, for me in my mind and for all of you guys,” the three-time Grand Slam runner-up said after his loss in Monte Carlo. “But I lost three sets in Buenos Aires, I lost three sets in Rio, I lost three sets in Indian W...

Bryson DeChambeau put Rory McIlroy in his place with ruthless comment to his face

Image
Bryson DeChambeau has already struck a psychological blow to Rory McIlroy as the pair prepare for a final-round showdown at the Masters. McIlroy leads on 12 under par, but his rival is just two behind after a storming finish to his third round on Saturday night. The LIV Golf star birdied three of the final four holes to leave the battle on his knife-edge. He holed from 50 feet on the 18th in an exhilarating finish and duly pumped up the crowd with his theatrical reaction. The scenario echoes the 2024 US Open, where the two stars were involved in a dramatic finish at Pinehurst Resort. Having appeared odds-on for victory, McIlroy missed two short putts in the final three holes to give DeChambeau a chance. The American duly sealed a second major title by holding out for par on the 18th, and the pair have since jibed about the outcome. In December, McIlroy and world No.1 Scottie Scheffler teamed up for a one-off match against DeChambeau and his LIV colleague Brooks Kopeka. During th...

‘The arrogance is astounding’: How Real Madrid became the envy of world football

Image
When Trent Alexander-Arnold was first considering a move to Real Madrid, which was some time ago now, a particular message was relayed. It was the same as that which Jude Bellingham received when given a tour of the Bernabeu by head of recruitment Juni Calafat. You can go to any other club and be a legend, sure. Being a legend at Madrid, however, is like nothing else in football. Such comments are why the chief executive of a major rival once commented: “The arrogance is astounding.” Madrid don't care about such statements, though, since they don’t really care what anyone else thinks. “We are Madrid,” as the declarative statement from their senior executives and cigar-puffing wealthier fans goes. They feel above it all and radiate that. It is this attitude – this “aura”, as it’s so often described – that Arsenal are going to have to overcome more than anything else in this Champions League quarter-final. Mikel Arteta’s side might at least feel that less than others, since the two...

Rio Ferdinand leaves host stunned with Kevin De Bruyne vs Steven Gerrard point - 'He's not!

Image
Ex-Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand sparked a fierce debate on his podcast by placing Steven Gerrard above Kevin De Bruyne in a list of the Premier League's best midfielders. The topic has reared its head again after Manchester City legend De Bruyne announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. De Bruyne's standing in the English game has since been a regular discussion point, with Jamie Carragher naming him as the second-best foreign player in the league's history - behind Thierry Henry. But as far as Ferdinand is concerned, it's Carragher's former Liverpool team-mate who is the benchmark when it comes to midfielders. Gerrard's lack of a Premier League title is something which his rivals often like to use against him, but Ferdinand did no such thing, putting him on a podium along with Red Devils legends Roy Keane and Paul Scholes. The debate came during an episode of the Vibe with FIVE podcast, with host Joel Beya visibly stunned. D...

Arne Slot explains why Mohamed Salah is heading towards unwanted Liverpool landmark

Image
The durable Egyptian has failed to score or provide an assist in each of his last three appearances for Liverpool . Salah hasn't gone four consecutive games for the Reds without directly contributing to a single goal in more than four years. During this run of blanks, Liverpool have been knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain and were convincingly defeated by Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final. The Reds managed to squeak past Everton in Wednesday's Merseyside derby, but Salah was once again shunted onto the periphery. Liverpool boss Arne Slot used the calibre of his side's recent opponents to explain Salah's drought. "Sometimes the fixture list is more difficult than at other periods," the Dutch boss reasoned. "PSG are one of the best teams in Europe at the moment. Newcastle were all over us in the Carabao final and Everton were so difficult with ten people in their own 18-yard box all the time. "I know Mo, he lives for go...
